Ditch Cleaning MachineNM-Bolero (4-Wheeler)

The NM-Bolero is a compact 4-wheeler / SUV-mounted hydraulic boom and bucket unit for cleaning roadside open drains and ditches — self-contained on its own vehicle, with no separate tractor or truck needed.

How It Works

The NM-Bolero draws hydraulic power from its own vehicle engine through a fitted PTO, so it doesn't need a separate tractor. The operator sits at the machine itself, directly beside the ditch, rather than offset at the center of a backhoe — making it far easier to judge reach and avoid damaging the ditch side walls. A telescopic lateral box section extends up to 800mm for better reach and visibility into the ditch, while the articulated boom swings through 90 degrees. The bucket scoops silt, mud, and sediment out of the ditch and empties it directly into the high-rise hydraulic tipping hopper, eliminating the need to re-handle silt dumped on the ground. Once full, the hopper tips to a dumping height of about 1.5m to empty at the disposal site.

Key Features

  • Self-contained on a compact 4-wheeler / SUV chassis, hydraulics driven off the vehicle's own engine PTO
  • Articulated main boom and stick boom, slewing 90 degrees via double-acting hydraulic cylinders
  • Hydraulically operated telescopic lateral box extension, up to 800mm, for reach and visibility into the ditch
  • 0.5 cum high-rise hydraulic tipping hopper, dumping height of about 1.5m
  • Four hydraulic stabilizers for stability during operation
  • 60-liter oil tank with suction strainer, oil level gauge, and return line filter
  • Two-coat epoxy primer plus PU/synthetic enamel finish for corrosion resistance

Bucket Options

The NM-Bolero ships with the standard ditch bucket, and can be quick-attached with a 4-jaw grab bucket on the same boom for a different kind of job:

  • Ditch Bucket (standard) — a 0.05 cum (50 kg), 300mm-wide scoop bucket built to lift silt, mud, and sediment out of a narrow ditch without disturbing the side walls
  • 4-Jaw Grab Bucket (optional) — a wide clamshell-style bucket with four jaws instead of a fixed scoop, rated to the same lifting capacity as the ditch bucket. Its open-jaw design suits picking up loose, irregular material like roadside litter and garbage, or waste at a landfill site, rather than digging into compacted silt

Swapping between the two is a quick-attach change on the same boom — no other modification needed.

Ideal For

  • Municipalities and contractors who want a self-contained unit with no separate tractor or truck
  • Roadside open drains and ditches up to about 1.5m deep
  • Sites that also need periodic roadside or landfill garbage collection via the optional grab bucket

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the NM-Bolero need a separate tractor or truck?

No — its hydraulics are driven off the vehicle's own engine PTO, so it's fully self-contained on its 4-wheeler / SUV chassis.

Can the NM-Bolero collect roadside garbage, not just silt?

Yes — a 4-jaw grab bucket is available as a quick-attach option on the same boom, rated to the same lifting capacity as the standard ditch bucket, and suited to loose garbage or landfill waste rather than compacted silt.

How deep a ditch can it clean?

Up to about 1.5 meters below ground level, with a boom outreach of roughly 3.3 meters.

Where does the collected silt go?

Directly into the 0.5 cum high-rise hydraulic tipping hopper, which then dumps at a height of about 1.5m to empty at the disposal site — no re-handling of silt dumped on the ground.
