Articulating Telescopic Boom LiftAT-2900

The AT-2900 is Maniar's largest articulating telescopic boom lift — a 29m working height platform on a 12 ton GVW truck chassis with a 14m outreach, built for the tallest and farthest-reaching access jobs in the range.

How It Works

An articulating telescopic boom combines two boom actions in one unit: a lower boom section that articulates (folds) at a jointed pivot, letting the platform reach up and over obstacles the way a knuckle-boom lift does, and an upper section that telescopes — extends in a straight line — for additional reach and height beyond what the articulating joint alone could deliver. On the AT-2900, that lower section is a double pantograph, and its sigma boom movement is enabled by a connecting rod, while the telescopic upper boom extends hydraulically on its first stage and by wire rope on the stages after that, riding on nylon pads with a trunnion-type hydraulic telescopic cylinder for smooth movement; the boom sections carry an epoxy primer treatment on the inside for corrosion protection. That combination makes the AT-2900 more versatile than a boom that is purely articulating, which tops out at its joint's reach, or purely telescopic, which is limited to straight-line movement, on its own. Four hydraulically operated stabilizers level and anchor the 12 ton GVW truck chassis, and a worm-reduction slew bearing gives the platform 360-degree continuous rotation. The whole system is designed to EN280 standard, with a 3kV insulated bucket available as an option for electrical maintenance work.

Key Features

  • 29m working height, 27m platform (cage floor) height, 14m outreach, 200kg safe load
  • Mounted on a 12 ton GVW truck chassis
  • Double-pantograph articulating lower boom with sigma movement via a connecting rod, plus a telescopic upper boom (hydraulic first stage, wire-rope-extended additional stage)
  • High tensile steel (min YST 700 N/mm²) box-section boom with internal epoxy primer treatment, plasma/laser-cut profiles, self-lubricating pivot points
  • Four hydraulically operated stabilizers (A-type) with independent control, lock valves, and over-travel to level the vehicle on uneven ground
  • 360-degree continuous slewing on a worm-reduction slew bearing, with mechanical and hydraulic leveling
  • Aluminium operator cage (1200 x 1100 x 800mm) with non-slip flooring, drain holes, a tool box, working light, and safety hooks
  • Hydraulic cage rotation of 45 degrees each side (90 degrees total), plus a safe load indicator with automatic cut-off
  • Cage control at a switch panel, with a wireless remote control option in addition
  • Optional 230V AC power supply, water line, and airline routed to the cage
  • Rear deck with a 3mm-thick MS chequered-sheet floor and side railing on both sides
  • Independent controls at the chassis deck and base, tied together through a PLC-based safety interlock system from a European-brand controller
  • Extensive safety interlocks — boom-stabilizer interlock, stabilizer lock-when-open, pilot check valves, over-center valves, max-pressure valve, and a spirit level indicator
  • Two-coat epoxy primer with a two-coat PU/synthetic enamel finish

Specifications & Capacity

The AT-2900 reaches a 29m working height with a 27m platform floor height and 14m of outreach, rated for a 200kg safe load in the cage. It's built on a 12 ton GVW truck chassis, with continuous 360-degree slewing and four hydraulic stabilizers for setup on uneven ground. Optional 230V AC power, a water line, and an airline can be routed to the cage for jobs that need power or utilities at height.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the working height and outreach of the AT-2900?

29m working height with 14m of outreach, on a 27m platform floor height — Maniar's largest articulating telescopic boom lift.

What vehicle does the AT-2900 mount on?

A 12 ton GVW truck chassis.

Can the AT-2900 supply power to the cage?

Yes — an optional 230V AC power supply, along with a water line and an airline, can be routed to the cage.

How does the AT-2900's boom differ from the smaller AT-1300 through AT-1800 models?

It uses a double-pantograph articulating section with sigma boom movement via a connecting rod, paired with a telescopic upper boom that extends hydraulically on its first stage and by wire rope beyond that — a design built for the added height and outreach of the 29m class.
